Best CPQ Software in 2026 Ranked by AI Recommendations

Four AI engines agree on the CPQ leaders. Salesforce and Oracle top every list, but Perplexity still recommends retired brand names.

The SupaIntent AI Brand Index tracks which software brands AI assistants recommend and which sources shape those answers. For CPQ (configure-price-quote) software it ranked 17 brands across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, and Perplexity. In most categories the engines disagree about who leads. CPQ broke that pattern.

Salesforce and Oracle hold the top two spots on every engine. SAP sits in the top five everywhere, and Conga makes all four lists. Below the leaders it gets odd. Perplexity's first pick is BigMachines, a product name Oracle retired after buying the company in 2013.

We did not test these tools hands-on. This is a visibility ranking of how often, and how highly, AI assistants name each brand when a buyer asks. We pulled the numbers from SupaIntent's AI Brand Index, then checked them against what each tool actually is today, so you can see both what AI recommends and where its picks are out of date.

TL;DR: The four engines agree on CPQ more than in any category we have tracked. Salesforce and Oracle hold the top two spots on every list, with SAP and Conga right behind. Below the leaders the data gets unreliable: Perplexity recommends BigMachines and Apttus, brands that disappeared into Oracle and Conga years ago, and several other entries are pricing or proposal tools rather than CPQ. Verify what a name refers to before shortlisting it.

This ranks AI visibility, not product quality

Strong third-party coverage and long category history drive how often a tool appears here. Hands-on quality does not. A brand can lead because analysts and review sites have written about it for fifteen years, not because it fits your quoting process. We measure how AI assistants surface and rank brands, then add a category-fit note on each, so you can see when a frequently named tool is a bad fit for the job.

Rankings come from the AI Brand Index CPQ Software report, which tracks how ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, and Perplexity rank and cite brands in this category, with position history and the source domains behind each answer. The report is live and updates over time, so treat the figures here as a snapshot from July 2026.

The CPQ software leaderboard

The table below ranks by the all-engines view, then shows where each brand lands inside each engine's top results. An "n/a" means the brand did not appear in that engine's current top ten.

Perplexity lists its top pick as "BigMachines", which resolves to oracle.com; we count it under Oracle here. The full ranking runs to 17 brands, and the tail includes Logik.io, Vendavo, Epicor, and a few names that need explaining, which we get to below.

Insight: Four brands appear on every engine's list: Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, and Conga. In most categories we track, at best one brand manages that.

All four engines name the same leaders

In the categories we have run before, each engine tends to surface its own winner. When we analyzed the CRM category, the engines split on which kind of product to put first. CPQ does not split that way. The same four incumbents top every list, in nearly the same order.

The source data explains the convergence. Across all four engines, three domains account for 56 of the 68 source citations in this category: Gartner with 27, G2 with 19, and Forrester with 10. CPQ is a mature enterprise category with analyst coverage going back well over a decade, and every engine is reading some slice of the same material.

Takeaway: In CPQ, AI visibility runs through Gartner, G2, and Forrester. If you sell a challenger product, your presence in those three shapes what every engine says about you at once.

Perplexity recommends brands that no longer exist

Perplexity's list is the strangest of the four, and the problems start at the top. Its first pick is BigMachines, the company Oracle acquired in 2013 and folded into what is now Oracle CPQ. The BigMachines name dropped out of Oracle's lineup years ago, yet here it is at number one.

Further down, the same list holds Apttus at seven and Conga at eight. Those are one product: Apttus and Conga combined in 2020, and the company kept the Conga name. A buyer following this list would evaluate the same software twice under two names, one of them dead.

The engines even disagree about what Salesforce's product is called. ChatGPT names Salesforce Revenue Cloud, the current packaging, while Google AI Mode and Perplexity say Salesforce CPQ, a product that reached end of sale in March 2025 as Salesforce moves quoting into Revenue Cloud. The likely reason is Perplexity's source diet.

Takeaway: In a legacy enterprise category, an AI shortlist can include names that stopped existing years ago. Check every name against the vendor's current product page before it goes into an RFP.

Where each engine gets its answers

Each engine reads a different slice of the web, and the slices differ less here than usual, which is why the lists converge.

Which sources each AI engine leaned on for CPQ software (July 2026).
EngineSources it leans onWhat that rewards
ChatGPTg2.com and gartner.com, in equal measurebrands with review-site and analyst coverage
Google AI Modeg2.com, gartner.com, capterra.comreview-site presence first
Geminicpq-integrations.com, dealhub.io, conga.com, niche CPQ blogsvendor content and niche category blogs
Perplexitygartner.com and forrester.com onlyanalyst coverage, archives included

The pattern lines up with the lists. Gemini is the only engine reading vendor sites and niche blogs, and the only one with DealHub in its top three. It cites dealhub.io directly. Perplexity reads only analysts, and its list is the most enterprise-heavy and the most out of date. Citations show what an engine drew on. They do not prove what caused the ranking.

What each CPQ tool actually is

In this category a name is not always the product you would buy today. Several entries have changed hands or changed names since the coverage the engines read was written.

ExperlogixCPQ for Microsoft Dynamics and SalesforceDynamics-centric teamsLess presence outside those ecosystems

Below the top ten the list needs even more care. Vendavo is a B2B pricing platform first, with quoting capabilities on top. Veeva makes life-sciences cloud software, including CRM. Salesloft is a sales engagement platform and does not sell a CPQ product. ZF is a German automotive supplier, and we could not tie a current CPQ product to that name at all. All four show up in AI answers for this category anyway, pulled in by the sources the engines read.

Where SupaIntent fits

In most software categories, a brand chasing AI visibility has to show up on four engines that each read different sources. CPQ flips that problem. Here the top of every list is locked by three publishers, so a challenger has a narrower question to answer. Are you in the Gartner, G2, and Forrester material the engines actually read, and if not, which engine offers a way in without analyst history? Gemini is the one opening, and the DealHub result above shows why.

You can only tell which situation you are in by reading the data one engine at a time. SupaIntent tracks how AI assistants rank, describe, and cite your brand across engines over time, and which sources shape each answer. For the levers behind those answers, start with our guide on how to improve how AI recommends your brand.

How we compiled this

The rankings come from SupaIntent's AI Brand Index, a weekly snapshot of which brands ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity name in each category. We merge the four engines into one ranking and track the sources behind each answer. These figures are from July 2026. We rank tools by observed position rather than a published score, and we flag names that fall outside CPQ. Treat the result as directional, not as a statistically representative benchmark. FAQ

What is the best CPQ software in 2026?

Measured by AI recommendations, Salesforce and Oracle. They hold the top two spots on ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, and Perplexity, with SAP and Conga close behind. That measures visibility rather than hands-on quality, so match the shortlist to your own quoting process before you commit.

Which CPQ software does ChatGPT recommend?

ChatGPT's current top five are Salesforce Revenue Cloud, Oracle CPQ, SAP CPQ, Conga CPQ, and DealHub. Its answers lean on G2 and Gartner about equally, so review-site and analyst coverage decide who makes this list.

Is Salesforce CPQ discontinued?

Not fully: standalone Salesforce CPQ reached end of sale in March 2025, and new investment goes into Revenue Cloud. Existing customers keep support and renewals. AI engines have not caught up: Google AI Mode and Perplexity still recommend the product under its old name.

What happened to BigMachines?

Oracle acquired BigMachines in 2013 and folded it into what is now Oracle CPQ. The old name survives in the analyst archives some AI engines read, which is why Perplexity still lists BigMachines as its top CPQ recommendation.
